if it follows the camera, it's not an NVR issue. you might have to reset the camera, which bounces you back to 192.168.1.108 in a DHCP network setting. ( if its a Dahua or Dahua Oem) which, if the camera has some setting screwed up, might unscrew it.
Was that camera used elsewhere before? If you get in a pinch you can plug your computer into one of the Poe ports on nvr and bypass to internal ip; 10. is default. If in a real pinch; no Ethernet port like most newer laptops, you can hook up a wireless ap to nvr poe port.
They could have been, I bought the house with the cameras already installed. I attempted to plug them right into the router but they didn't have enough power since they are PoE. I imagine I could get a powered Ethernet port to power it?
