Locally you need ID to sell to a scrap metal merchant. Unfortunately it doesn't stop the grubs steeling stuff, but it does make it easier for the Police to gather evidence to lock them up.

They have the same laws in California where these thefts occur. The problem is the scrap yards are in on it.

So really, what's a homeowner to do? 3 cars of them with approx 4-6 ppl. I think in the 1st video the guy had a baseball bat he moved the camera with? Without a gun, what's a homeowner to do?

How come most all of the junk yards are owned by a relative of the PD, City Council, you get the drift!
The reason they "Are Not Responsible for Theft", is because they stole it first. It is like that "Crime and
Punishment" movie. They do the crime and we get punished.

i know i'm late to the party, but you can get a nice big can of riot control pepper spray that the cops use from ebay. run about $80. it disperses a large cloud of irritant at quite a distance. they have ones that not only irritate your lungs, nose, and eyes, but also affect your nervous system. one spray from one of those you'll be recovering for hours.
