changing Hikvision HTTP port locks camera?

Does it not bring the camera back to operation? or do you keep trying to change the ports and locking it up?
How are you performing the reset?

It's a bug... howwver, there is absolutely no need to change the http Port....most routers let you set an independent external Port...

have a similar issue, changed http port from 80 to 8090, router configured to allow access but camera un reachable via web ui

I've got just the same problem with two of my 4 Chinese Hiks. The two DS-2CD2135F-IS were no problem to change the port, the other two DS-2CD2132F-IS I couldn't change the port in SADP. In iVMS-4200 I could change and save it but the program asks me to reboot the cam, after doing that the program starts to turn but blocks after a while. I don't understand why you need to reboot the cam only by changing a port. In SADP after saving, everything was done with the two 2135. I'm also waiting for a solution. After a hard reset (pushing the reset button in the cam) everything returns to factory settings (port 80).

I wish I read this thread before changing the port on my DS-2CD2732F-IS camera version 5.2.5. After changing the port through the web interface to 8585, I was not able to access the web interface, though the camera was visible in SADP and pingable at the specified local ip address. There are two options that you can get the camera back to operational state.
Option #1 - Reset the camera. This is an easy option but you do have to get up there and hit the reset button. The firmware itself is unchanged but all setting changes you made are lost and the camera is restored to factory default setting. If you've saved the settings using the Export config file option you can just import the settings. (If you cannot find your exported config file, read this thread, On Hikvision cameras where does the video/snapshots save to when you download them?)
Option #2 - Reload the firmware to the same version you have. I wouldn't recommend this option but I tried it anyway hoping not have to take apart the camera. You can download the tftp tool at https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/hikvision-tftp-update-software.6473/ or https://www.dropbox.com/s/3hy72q4osstun72/5.30 Downgrader.rar?dl=0 and replace the firmware file digicap.dav with your version. If you follow up the steps outlined in the downloaded file, this process takes a few minutes and you should have a working camera AGAIN. Needless to say that you'd lose all custom settings.
But I did run into one issue while running the tftp tool, which I have used before. Basically the upgrading process failed and the tool kept returning the message, "[date stamp] Resend File Required". I believe the problem was resulted from the way my pc was connected to the local network. Once I connected it directly to the same switch where the camera was connected without going through another router (which was on the same network segment), I was able to run the tftp tool and competed the firmware upgrade process. A big sigh as you can imagine.
I think Hikvision should fix the bug on affected firmware versions. Until then it is not a good idea to change the port. If anyone has a better workaround, I'd be very interested to learn it.

Plus another 2 to try changing the HTTP port.
Use SADP. It's main purpose is to modify network parameters.
Use ONVIF Device Manager from sourceforge.net and try changing network settings.
This is still a problem. I just bought a 2cd2132f, firmware v5.4. (Firmware 5.3 is the newest I found on the hikvision downlod page).
Changing the http port always crashes it within the hour. SADP will not fix it. Hard reset only works if you remove the SD card. I already exchanged the first camera as defective before I found this thread.

I am surprised to see this thread still alive after so long. I might have thought at first that this problem was due to older firmwares, but it seems some people still have this problem with newer firmwares? I have changed the port on the camera hundreds of times, and never had a problem connecting to the camera with whatever port I have used.
It might be the way people try to connect to the camera. When using Internet Explorer and a non standard web port (80), you will have to put the http:// by hand on front of it.
If you try to go to "192.168.1.100:800" it will just search on bing/whatever that text string. You actually have to type "http://192.168.1.100:800" for it to work.
