Chinese DS-2CD2335-I firmware upgrade to English

Hi,

is there any movement on upgrading Chinese hacked to English do-2CD2335-I cameras currently running firmware 5.3.6?

I’m finding that email alerts only support SSL on this firmware.

That's pretty likely to be running the 'Deiter & Fiona' hacked-to-English firmware.
Any upgrade to later versions does require modded firmware manually inserted via a root shell.
And space constraints means it doesn't easily fit, so it's a bit of a messy process.
Probably best to move on to a newer more capable model, in my view.

Thanks @alastairstevenson yep I was hoping to upgrade my dads 4x cameras but it sounds a step too far
