Andy, I'd like to order a NVR5208-8P-4KS2E. I can't seem to be able to get through via email. Is there a price difference when ordering directly or should I go through amazon?

It’s in the spec sheets, but from memory the 3 series only tell you if it’s human or car, 5 series count people and that sort of thing.

lot less memory as well, the ZE has 1gb of ram I believe - so not as “smart”

We will keep the black Friday discount to Cyber Monday. some guys are at thanksgiving day holiday. So Monday is the last day for the sales.
In Dec, when we get more 4K full color and dual lens camera, we will do some discount again. But will be on some models only.

I also prepare some cams to clear the stocks(New condition), will be good price, some hikvision models and dahua ones. Brand new sell as refubished price. :p
Good for low budget customers. Around 40pcs. Will release on Nov.25th on thanksgiving day.

Has this stock been released? If so where, is there a list? Thanks

I can't answer that. I havent configured that on any camera yet. My use scenario is probably different than yours.

Andy do you have a turret camera I can used to capture license plates in the dark if mounted under this mailbox?

Heck, at that range a 2231 or 3241 would do the trick. Nice and close to the road! Have fun trenching in the CAT cable/conduit though.

I'm thinking a varifocal 5442 turret would be great that close? The small zoom (12mm) on those would be ok since it's so close already to the road and get the decent quality of the 5442's sensor... Looks like already a drain pipe going under the driveway so the dirt part should be easy.

2MP is all you need to capture plates. Remember at night all you will get is the headlight and taillight and plate and 2MP is more than sufficient.

This camera works well on a mailbox and you will be surprised that you will max zoom the thing to get plates as you need to try to straighten the angle and that will take it out about 30 feet or so.

They are basically the same, except the 41 has AI and the 32 does not.

So depends on the location and situation. If it is to put on a mailbox to get plates, the 2231 is the better choice as the car is not in the frame long enough for AI to detect it reliably.

Hi All---

I'm new but after an event last night I'm wanting to buy a camera ASAP. I've been researching infrastructure for some time (Blue Iris) and I have the servers/storage to support everything (POE switch, CAT6 runs to the locations etc) but cameras are still a bit of a black hole for me. I want to buy from Empiretech based on what I've seen so far on this forum and want to buy a turret camera that will be ceiling mounted in a entryway corner (9' ceiling, 6'x6' entryway looking out to the frontyard and road. I'd rather spend more on a camera and NOT be limited by saving a few bucks. With this black friday sale going on (and the limited time to select a camera) what would be a good option for purchase? I'm looking at the IPC-T5442T-ZE along with the junction box for a ceiling mount. Thank you for the advice!!
