Comparison DS-2CD2543G0-I(W)(S) and DS-2CD2542FWD-I(W)(S)

Are there any major differences in these two mini dome models?

Hard for me to tell based on the specs, but just from the pictures it looks like the 43G0 has the better mic?

Here are the two models on the Hikvision page:

They are the same camera, just with the new Hikvision naming scheme.

Well, that's interesting. And confusing!

Like DS-2CD2142FWD-I and DS-2CD2143G0-I... they are exactly the same cameras.

I found out when I was having some firmware problems with DS-2CD2143G0-I, so I got a few pieces of the older model, DS-2CD2142FWD-I. The problems were also there, exactly the same! And well, then I found out that they use the exact same firmware (G1). After opening both units and comparing them, it wasn't hard to see that they are exactly the same.

Confusing indeed, found their old naming conventions already difficult and now this. What I was wondering however is that they look different, the microphone seems to be different? See pictures under the links above. The circle highlighted in red does not appears on the other one. Any ideas?

They are the same. The pictures you see on the links above are old, DS-2CD2542FWD-I has changed over the years, and that picture is of what the camera used to look like when it came out on the market.

Btw, the picture you highlighted on the pic above is not the microphone, but the IR.
