The 720 I bought has only a 500MB drive good for only 30 days of storage for my setup.

Man, I have an 8 TB purple that is only good for 9 or 10 days. Granted that is because I am recording continuously from multiple cameras at an overall bit rate of 76 Mbps

I only record four cameras while at home which is most of the time since retiring. When gone from home all recording is based on motion. I've spent a lot of time fine tuning the motion detection in BI which requires additional time after some of the program updates but for me is worth it. So far the only payoff was identifying a neighborhood bicycle thief for the local PD.
