The problem is more at dusk and night. My SMD and MD are still on because I thought you need SMD to find humans and cars. I can switch them off.
I think I saw rectangles for cars before, but I have not sat in front of the web gui to test it. Certainly the stream arriving to the NVR has no rectangles.
I am starting to think that the camera is slow because I have 3-4 IVS rules. It seemed much better when I tested it by the window before installation.
I have footage of people not being detected, if that helps.

Nope, MD and SMD is not needed. They shouldn't even have that option on the AI IVS cameras as all it does is cause problems.
You have to turn the IVS rules on in the NVR or the camera GUI for them to show up on the screen.
As I mentioned, this camera is on the less than ideal MP/sensor ratio, so it has to work harder as it has the same processor to process 4MP as the 2MP camera. So 4 IVS rules may be causing an issue.
Since it is happening in low light, that is an indicator of either not enough light (infrared or visible) and/or wrong settings.
Some clips of it missing at night or starting and not finishing tracking would be helpful.

Another neighbor came out half an hour later and the camera did not pick it up either. Yet, this morning picked up a person, no problem. Not sure what happened yesterday with IVS:

Same day, a little later, does not pick up a car passing right to left. Many other times has no problem picking up the cars in that direction:

Another issue with this camera: I label the presets and half a day later the names are back to Preset1, Preset2, etc. Not sure why it does not hold the preset names.

2- On Object size use MAX full screen for max and 0 for min
3- Some of your lines go fairly vertical, make them more flat across the street. There's a 3D effect and your targets can walk right underneath it. Test yourself to hit belt height
4- You lack IR light at night. You need to add more IR

What do you mean by making lines go across the street instead of vertical? I tried to put more frequent zig zags at the entrance points of the street in the frame.

Anyway, I am trying a new IVS based on intrusion detection of humans instead of tripwire. Will see how this goes.
