Crazy guy hops my fence!

Night time people detection in the back yard going pretty well, I need to darken my face and try. It doesn't get me all the way in the back, but at some point its just too dark and far away.

I'll be making a shed soon in the back right, and I can throw a cam on there

Yea, they all have AI. I just need to find the time to read up on it and mess with it.

In that case, then set up the IVS rules within the camera and let it do its thing!

Go into the camera and set up smart plan with IVS, then go to the IVS screen and draw IVS rules (tripwire or intrusion box) and then select the AI you want it to trigger on (human or vehicle).

Then in BI, there are a few places you need to set this up in BI (assuming you already set up the IVS rules in the camera GUI):

In Camera configure setting check the box "Get ONVIF triggers".

Hit Find/Inspect on the camera setting to pull the coding for the triggers.

Go into Motion Setting and select the "Cameras digital input" box.

On the Alerts tab uncheck the Motions Zones tab (those are alerting you to any BI motion in those areas in Zones A thru H)

On the alerts tab set up how to be notified.

So you are ONLY using the IVS? I thought about combining it with DS to get less false positives but maybe that's too much work!

I'll try this out on my front cams

Will alerts be more efficient on my phone if I am use the BI app?

Does IVS add the box around the person? I really like that. Makes it nice and easy to see on my push notification alerts

For most of my cams yes. I still have a few non AI cams and I use IVS and Deepstack on a few at night so that I get a snapshot of the car instead of headlight bounce.

How/what are you pushing your alerts to?

The problem with the BI app is that when off your network, the push will not include a picture (unless you port forward or leave VPN on all the time).

With the Pushover app ($5) you will get an image.

How/what are you pushing your alerts to?

I use E-Mail and Pushover. Pushover is nice to get instant alerts, and then its easier to scroll though email later on. Also adds a bit of redundancy

On my project list is to figure out an all local way of getting notifications, even with no picture. I want alerts to still work if there is an internet outage (Though I do have redundant WAN)

Unfortunately IVS will not add the box around the person for the alert.

So you either do without or add BI AI to add that box. It will cause a delay depending on your system and how long it takes to AI it.

Only using on cam IVS AI here. I very rarely get any false alerts.
But no box around the perp for alerts.

The box is very important to me, but I guess passing it through to Deepstack and setting the percentage really really low would get me what I want

Anyone know how to make the DS alerts slower? For example this image is not much use to me. I would much rather an image from a second later

A couple of different ways.

Make the make time in the BI motion a little slower so that the person has time to get into the full image.

Or

Under AI for the camera, add more "+ real time images" and use the "To cancel" box and add in an item you wouldn't see so that it forces it to use all of the additional images. In my case it is a giraffe LOL.

The to cancel box forces it to run every image and then will select the best image for the alert image.

I do this to get a car in the center of the frame at night as it would often get just the front end due to the headlights.

Oh that's an interesting idea!

But what do you do if a giraffe does come into shot?

I'm going to add that to my driveway cams, often times it just gets the very front which is annoying

Here is my example.

With the to cancel option

So even though I am a fan of camera AI, there are instances where BI AI will be better, or even BI motion detection. I use each one of them depending on the field of view and what is to be accomplished with that field of view.
