New Camera (e.g. DS-2CD2022WD-I2 DS-2CD2152F-I & 4MP) Firmware

First off hello all LOVE this forum; there is sooo much information here.

I like a challenge and I'm interested in unlocking some of the potential of the new type of cameras.

I don't actually have mine yet lol but why let that stop me ? :)

If anyone wouldn't mind helping me out I need a copy of the main davinci program on these new cameras or even better a mtd dump. I think the ssh trick would be best way to get this but I think this might stop working on newer firmware so better to ask now before it's near impossible.

So much good work on here in the past with the 3MP cameras and I know this new firmware is much harder and encrypted so any help would be great. I did send a few PMs but I know people are busy or might not have any interest in adding any new functions/programs.

Camera list that uses it:

DS-2CD2F12F-I(W)(S)Z
DS-2CD2F22FWD-I(W)(S)
DS-2CD2F42FWD-I(W)(S)

oh yeah forgot to say if you need help getting the file off the camera I can help or even do it for you while you watch if you want. not talking about making changes to the camera here so there's no risk of causing problems etc.

Hi, what features were you thinking of adding first?

LPR (License-Plate-Recognition) would be a good one if your looking for suggestions

I mean the possibilities are endless and why linux cameras are so great. These are the new cameras and people have done so much awesome work on the 2xx2 cameras I figure it must be possible on these too. It's easy to extract the firmware for those but not for these 4MP cameras :)

Would appreciate any help in getting a copy of the davinci program (or all the files/MTD even better).

I might have missed the thinks that are possible on 2xx2 cams.
You have a link ?

It's the 4MP cameras I'm interested in - there are guys on here that knows lots of about the 2xx2 so maybe one of them can offer more help on that :)

The 4MP cameras are more powerful, and have more potential but as far as I know no one is looking at them in this way (yet!). I'd like to get started but need a copy of the files to start :)

If someone can provide me with the files (or doesn't mind if I get them) from the camera I might have a chance to find out lol :p

Hmm maybe I should have put something else than 4MP in the title of the thread as 2MP and 5MP cameras are also included in this type of firmware. E.g.: DS-2CD2022WD-I DS-2CD2152F-I(W)(S)

OK camera list added

Is the DS-2CD2152F-I(W)(S) a new Hikvision model? I have not seen this before.

Does anyone have one of these and is happy to send me the files? I can do it for you under your supervision and control with Teamviewer if you prefer.

I am happy to help. What do I need to do to get the files you need. I have a DS-2CD2142FWD-I(W)(S), running 5.3.3

Thanks :)

Not sure if 5.3.3 will let us do it or 5.3.1 needed - but lets give it a go!

PM sent

OK thanks to Yostie, I think a 5.3.1 camera will be needed.

There's still things to try on 5.3.3, but 5.3.1 has better chance to bypass protected shell I think.

If anyone has a 5.3.1 camera give me a shout! cheers

I think we were all curious what magic you were going to perform with remote access to the camera.
You will find that 5.3.1 is much the same.
Hikvision watch this forum too closely - one of the sources that drive change in their firmware architecture.

Are you sure protected shell can't be bypassed in 5.3.1? It's much earlier so I think it can be unless you definately know?
