The more I looked into this PTZ the more I like it. Here is the link to the specification sheet.
It has a 4/3" sensor which is larger than the 1/1.8" that is currently in vogue. It is 4K capable which is equal to 8MP. The illumination specifications are fantastic. Color: 0.0005Lux@F1.6; B/W: 0.00005Lux@F1.6; 0Lux@F1.6 (IR on). On paper the camera should see quite well at night time, even better than the IPC-B5442E-ZE 4MP WDR IR Bullet which is very good. The one thing I did not like was the field of view until I looked into it more and was pleasantly surprised. The field of view is H: 58.1°–3.2°; V: 34.6°–1.8°; D: 64.9°–3.7°. That is 58.1 degrees at 16mm which is the furthest in. That will work just fine for me. The focal length is 16.0 mm–320 mm and 20X.

Now this is not a small ptz camera and most people probably will not have the space for it but I do. It will replace the Hikvision PTZ camera that I have now with a 1/1.9" sensor. They are virtually the same physical size. Here are the size specifications. Φ262mm×415.6mm (10.31"×16.36“). Oh, and the illumination specifications of the Hikvision 2MP PTZ that it is replacing is: Color: 0.005 @ ƒ/1.5; B/W: 0.0005 @ ƒ/1.5, 0 with IR on. The focal length of the Hikvision PTZ is 5.9 mm to 135.7 mm, 23x, and the field of view is 59.8° to 3.0° (wide to tele) which is almost identical to the Dahua that I will replace it with.

So around the middle of January I will place an order for one through Andy. He has to order it and it will probably take around 30 days. ;) I cannot wait to get this camera installed. :) I have attached a picture and the Hikvision PTZ is on the left under the eave. The new camera will go in the same general area. I am thinking on the left side of the beam to give it more of a field of view.

Can we convince you to put it on a 60' tower so you can see everything that happens within 4 miles of you?

This camera is officially on order with Andy. With the Chinese New Year holidays coming up in a couple of days it will take a little longer than normal. I will do a small report on it once I get it. It will be interesting to see how the video of this 4K camera shows up on my 65" 4K television screen and even my 28" computer monitor. :)

Did you get this camera yet? Waiting to hear about it.

I ordered the camera from Andy on January 10. Actually Andy trusted me and placed the order a couple of days before that. :) Then we had the two week Chinese New Year holidays. Now we have the coronavirus and I saw where the factories in China are shut down until March 1. I do not know if that is true or not. So to answer your question, no. Maybe towards the end of March?

Can you advise on the price please?
And alibaba has them on sale for about $1400 - is it a scam?

@Parley I like the new DH-PFB306W mount (contains an access cover), better than removing the camera entirely from the mount

I just got confirmation from Andy that my Dahua DH-SD8A820WA-HNF camera is ready to ship from the Dahua factory. I just made the final payment to Andy, so maybe by early next week I will have it in hand and ready to install. There is another thread that has the details of this camera but he failed to post any pictures. I will post pictures, especially at night.

Let me add that Andy has been very good to work with on this special order camera. It has had interruptions by the Chinese New Year and then the coronavirus out break. :)

Today I ask engineer to make a simple testing @Parley 's monster camera before shipping out, i have to say this camera is the best one we never see before! 20X zoom looks like better than the 40X zoom. Low light can do full color with extremly sharp pic. The only bad thing is too expensive!

Thanks Andy. The Dahua factory testing should be interesting. I of course will post the pictures from my house when I get it set up. I already have the pictures form the current Hikvision PTZ camera in that location for comparison.

Mine was $1840. By the way that 20X on the lens is very deceiving. Check out the field of view.

Hang this camrea as high as possible!! :headbang:

I just received the DHL shipping number and it is in their hands. I am scheduled to receive this camera on April 2nd. Mounting and testing should occur shortly there after. :) A big thanks goes out to Andy for staying with this order through the Chinese New Year and then the coronavirus outbreak that has disrupted everything.

Looking forward to the review. Surely, out of reach for me in terms of set-budget, but will be exciting to watch the samples.

I have a little apprehension from this thread. The data from the camera may overwhelm my NVR. I may have to watch my FPS very closely.
