Dahua DMSS App.

Is there a way to save a default camera order when viewing an NVR?

I can bring up the nine cameras easy enough, but they are always in order from 1-9. I can shuffle them to my preferred order, but I can’t save that view. When I restart the app it defaults back to original order.

Saving a preferred view order would be a great option to add to the Favorites.

Switch the cables around on your NVR to the spots you want the cameras in.

Is there a way to sync the playback of 4 cams in the new DMSS app?

I can choose the 4 cams I want to review, but I can’t find an option to synchronize the playback so that I can skip/play/etc. on all cams at the same time. The time bat at the bottom seems to only work for the currently selected camera and not all of them together.

Thanks.

Is anyone else having trouble with the cursor in the timeline when reviewing IVS or motion on a camera that also has 24/7 recording. I have multiple customers I set up with 24/7 recording and then IVS triggers for ease of review. Used to be that when you switched to "smart" in the record type it would jump to each IVS trigger in the timeline and not just play where you place the cursor. Now when I change to "smart" record type it jumps to the first IVS tick mark while its loading but then reverts back to 00:00 to start playing footage. It is very annoying and time consuming to try place your cursor at the very beginning of an IVS event tick and then do that for multiple events. It makes me want to turn off 24/7 recording. The app did not used to do this. I don't know if there is an update or if its something with my app alone. I have deleted and reinstalled the app and reimported all the devices. Any other suggestions?

Hi Bolo. The newly updated DMSS with the long awaited dark theme, is what I would recommend. It has its bugs and lacks somewhat. But finally Dahua seem to be getting the Android application to a better standard, finally! Hopefully in the future it will be not such a embarrassing application that I recommend for CCTV access, for my customers!

I downloaded the DMSS app but did not do a log in for DMSS Cloud. I have been using it to get push notifications and it has been working off and on for the most part. I bought an Asus router to go VPN and moved the NVR to the new router IP. I am needing to change the IP address of the NVR in DMSS but keep getting a login timeout message. Same thing when getting push notifications and tryin to view the alarm or live view. Do I need to set up DMSS cloud?

More info if helpful. DSL router/modem address xxx.xxx.x.1 Asus router xxx.xxx.x0.1 Set up Asus router with Dynamic IP quick set up. Moved NVR and other hard wired devices to Asus router. Moved wifi devices to Asus router IP. I can view all my stuff via the Asus router. ISP bridged their DSL modem. I lost internet connection initially but all I had to do was cycle Asus internet connect button to re-establish. DMSS was downloaded and setup on mine and my wife's iPhones identically. Both phones are looking at Asus wifi. Both phones are receiving push notifications but getting login timeout when trying to view. Both phones could view alerts and live images when NVR was assigned to old wifi IP, both phones would get push notifications but could not view alert or live images when not connected to old wifi.

addendum: problem solved. After further reading in the DMSS app help/faq info, and getting no helpful info about login timeout but noticed configuration failure mentioned not using 5 ghz on dual band wifi route. Got to thinking that the problem started when I put in the new router. That didn't have anything to do with my issue though because before I tried to separate my wifi bands with individual SSIDs I decided to try to entered my new network IP in the app one more time and it took it and started working.. The only thing that I did differently that I know was that I backspaced to where I needed to add the 0 and retyped the remaining numbers instead of putting the cursor where the 0 went and just adding it.

I know I’ve already posted this earlier in the thread but no one replied. I have to think of this is an actual problem in the app vs just my devices (multiple iOS devices). See the video for what I mean. It makes reviewing IVS events so tedious. You have to move the cursor to the beginning. Of each event manually. Up until a few months ago when you wen to smart events it would place the cursor only on the events. Now it just jumps back to 00:00 and starts playing. Infuriating. It makes me not want to use 24/7 because it makes quickly reviewing events on the mobile app impossible.

I did experience this on Android DMSS on a previous version application. The new version for Android is 1.80.002 build 25/1/21 and seems to have resolved the bug for me. This version and previous also has the required "dark theme"!

@cal2vin
Not a fix but a workaround.
Have you tried this button? Then you can choose what clip you want to watch.

Yes I’ve used that I guess it works but it’s nicer to see it on a timeline and have an actual time stamp to look at. Those just tell you lengths and which hour it’s in. Anyone else have this issue on an iOS app. I have some customers that have a lorex system at home and I told them Dahua is essentially the same thing. But the dmss is way less stable than the lorex app. Which is maddening.

Strangely the Lorex home app is the only app out of gDMSS and DMSS I have found that I can actually control my Dahua Motorised Zoom cameras with, on gDMSS and DMSS it zoomed in but never back out again, but with the Lorex Home app, I can zoom in and out with no issues.

When I get a notification it shows “w_channel 1” NOT the camera name. Anyone know why this is?

I know. I hate that it does that. I put a review in the App Store requesting that they include that change but I doubt it will happen. At least the developer responded and said they would include it but time will tell.

The app is far from perfect but it better than a lot of other apps.

yeah when I was getting notifications it was doing that to me as well, seemed weird that it would list the camera names attached on the nvr, but not use them for notifications.....

of course thats when I had notifications, mine have all stopped now, first they were working on An iPad and not on phone, but then they both stopped, and I can’t get them working again. So frustrating.

Most push notification issues I have ever had were related to me accidentally blocking them in my firewall.
