Hi everyone. I have 2 dahua cams: 1)IPC-HFW5842H-ZHE 2)IPC-HFW7842H-Z.
Both have firmware dated 2019 and I have some problems managing the IVS and video parameters with my nvr5232. I tried to download the firmware for these 2 cams from the Dahua website but upon installation it gives me the error that the firmware is not compatible. Can you tell me where to find a firmware compatible with my cams? Thank you!

Where You bought those cameras?
Are they from Chinese (aliexpress, amazon) distribution?
If yes, western firmware will not work on them...

How you upload the firmware?
Which web browser are You using?

You should do using Edge web browser via camera (not NVR) interface...
click browse, select unzipped DH*.bin file, click upload...

If this not work, here You have older firmware versions for original 5xx2 cams:

I dismantled them from a system that was no longer in use, I don't know where they came from. Yes, I'm uploading from the cam web page

I solved it and found the compatible firmware by contacting Dahua technical support who sent me the firmware for my iPCs. I don't know why they aren't mentioned on the dahua website. @steve1225

Both looks like they are for 7842...
not for 5842..

first gen of Dahua / HIK high end (7xxx, 8xxx) AI cams used western technology (SOC from Ambarella).
Due USA ban for exporting high-end top tech to China, Ambarella terminated the contract with HIK / Dahua and probably banned the distribution of their technology (cameras and firmwares)..
All latter AI cams used Chinese SOCs...

The first generation uses HX8XXX-Nobel firmware and uses HiSilicon hi3519AV100 .
The second generation uses Darwin firmware uses Ambarella SOC.

USA can only sanction TSMC and ban it from helping Huawei HiSilicon production.
But it cannot restrict China from obtaining chips from any channel.

From many years there are bans for exporting to China top chips manufactured by Western Companies:

Ambarella had restrictions which chips could sell to HIK/Dahua:

USA bans Ambarella sales to Dahua.
But can't restrict others from reselling it.
It is too easy for China to obtain Ambarella chips.
Find someone to set up a company abroad.
can be easily obtained.
