Well I just received my Dahua NVR 4108 P only to find out I bought the wrong HDD. The NVR instructions say a 7200 RPM drive is needed. I bought a WD Purple that is only 5400 rpm. Before I return the HDD will the RPM make much difference? Thanks Very Much.

so just a general question... being that a 7200 vs 5400 , the 7200 read- write is faster yet the WD Purple is designed for 24/7.... when it comes down to it.. would the 7200 be a better choice over the 24/7 design when deciding on a drive.. I only see the purple being called a "Surveillance Drive" because of the 24/7 not because of the performance.. If one doesn't care if the drive is designed to run constant... would I be better off getting a 7200 or a 10K standard drive?
