Unfortunately that didn't work for me but with the help of our supplier if you enable "Overlay" and give it a name it also changes the camera name in the NVR.
Didn't work for me either, except I can't even edit the overlay page. The channel title options are all greyed out.

I can confirm this firmware will resolve the camera name change issue
I am using the 4.002.0000000.4.R FW date 29-07-2022 on my NVR 4208.
Still the same problem. Drives me nuts! How difficult can it be to implement a simple CRUD for a name -> channel mapping?

Roll back to V4.002.0000000.3.R.220322

Happens usually after power outage.

Seems this is also written in the log ->

2023-01-26 08:36:54defaultSave ConfigSaved config. IP:Local Login Username:default Group Name:user Channel:6 Channel Title :Sisä-->Channel6
2023-01-26 08:36:50defaultSave ConfigSaved config. IP:Local Login Username:default Group Name:user Channel:1 Channel Title :pääportti-->Channel1

But, looking at the playback, Pääportti doesn't change to Channel1 that time, but Sisä changes to Channel6. Pääportti is IPC-HFW2431T-ZS-S2, Sisä IPC-HDBW2231E-S-S2-0460B.

Please state the full model of your NVR. Different NVR’s behave differently even with the same firmware.

This thread was for the nvr5216-16p-4ks2. The most resent firmwares have solved the random camera name changes after reboot for this model.

try this firmware on yours.
(Deleted as it probably is not correct for the NVR mentioned)

Actually here is a newer one.
NVR4108-8P-4KS2/L
As a safety procedure, I always make a config backup then factory default the NVR before firmware update. Then you can just restore your config backup after.
