Dahua SD49225XA-HNR Auto Tracking Enabled Firmware.

SD49225XA-HNR - Can Upgrade to Auto Tracking. Latest Firmware Version 210705
SD49225XA-HNR-S2 - Do not Upgrade to Auto Tracking. Latest Firmware Version 210713

Also remember flashing anything is a risk be it a camera or PC motherboard, so do so at your own risk. I take it you purchased your camera from an Authorised Dahua seller as you mentioned warranty?

Hi @ljw2k

Can you confirm this firmware will also work on the SD49425XB-HNR to enable the autotrack function?

I only ask as this thread refers to the 2mp model, and I have the 4mp.

Thanks :)

I have never had the 4mp model but if you look in the 49225 thread I believe it is also for your 49425 model also.

You've posted the 200312 firmware, but I'd rather go for the 210705 provided i can find it online.

I did buy the camera from an authorized Dahua dealer, and since it's still under warranty - if it bricks during an update to a newer firmware it's logical that the warranty will be valid.

210705 has not got Auto tracking enabled. If your camera came without auto tracking and you want auto tracking then you will have to use the 200312 firmware.

I have two of these and like them. They have the Auto Tracking but it does not functioon well for me? When I setup Deep IVE "ON THE CAMERA" as suggested it does not synch with the NVR (NVR5216-16P-I).

They both have current firmware and both Dahua, when I select AI by Camera and save, ten minutes later it has reverted to AI by Recorder. I also setup the Email in Network exactly as the NVR gor GMAIL and tests fail, no sending.

When I setup Smart Plan with Deep IVS it is like it does not synch with the NVR.

Any settings on this camera MUST be done via Internet Explorer via the camera's Web GUI.

Thanks I exclusively us IE for accessing the camera. Just wiped the NVR config, added the IVS to the camera and now it synchs? I am waiting to see if it records of the camera sends email.

I can help you set Auto Tracking via teamviewer if you want.

No Problem here is the new link. If you need help setting your new camera up please say so and I can help you through Teamviewer

Hey guys,

I too ordered one of these about a year ago and planned on eventually configuring Face detection(people counting) and Auto-tracking however since I couldn't find this feature in the GUI I started doing research and came across this post. I noticed Andy linked us to the file but it says it was deleted. Am I able to still simply update the firmware on my existing camera?

Now that I know Loryta is basically Dahua and comes with the level of support Andy offers, I will be ordering directly from his Amazon from now on. I actually need a few cameras now.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

You would be risking it because at some point in the past year or so the chipset changed and the cameras after that point will not accept the firmware and may brick it. The older models could be flashed with the autotracking firmware, but the new ones cannot. You would need to find the production date and the date that the chipset changed.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have to check exactly when I bought it but it actually longer than a year ago MAYBE even 2. Is there a way to confirm? I'm going to see if I can find the date I purchased it in the meanwhile.

I ordered it on 1/7/2021, I just double checked and confirmed. Heres the information from the settings page:

I was able to track down the actual listing/seller I purchased it form as well. On the main picture it says original firmware and upgradeable so I would assume I should be good. Hopefully I didn't buy a clone or anything, lol. It does look like the seller is legit and I remember it coming in actual Dahua packaging. The listings title also says auto-tracking which is why I purchased it in the first place.

I still have NOT accessed the camera via Internet explorer BUT in Chrome I do not see auto-tracking.

Bump, could anyone chime in? Just want to make sure before updating firmware. The ebay seller also provided some kind of firmware but I am unsure which one to use?

First use Internet Explorer as this camera more than most will not hold or show all settings in other browsers. You may not see all the settings in Chrome.

You will not see anything in the settings called AutoTrack.

You need to set up a preset.

Then you need to set-up the Smart Plan with Deep IVS for the presets you want to track.

Then select the object filters you want.

Then go to Deep IVS Rules Config page and you should see Track Time under alarm and Tracking Target size slider.

When setting up IVS rules, I strongly recommend you use intrusion box with appears and crosses instead of tripwire. And less is more. One IVS rule.

Leave min size as 0,0

Make sure that Motion Detection and Smart Motion Detection are turned off.

I repeat, make sure Motion Detection and Smart Motion Detection are turned off LOL.

If you do not have the above screen with the Tracking Target Size, then you have a version without autotrack.

The autotracking version ptz is going end soon on the 49 series, right now dahua also stop the autotracking on SD49425XB-HNR, we still have 40pcs left.
The SD49225XA-HNR autotracking version cams stopped produced last year, this one we are going to use up too. Have around 60pcs left. Can sell 2-3 months i think.
After this we have to move to the 5 series, but price will be 200-300usd more.

Wow, so you paid more than if you just bought it from @EMPIRETECANDY to begin with and then have a known good camera...

Yes, Ive had the camera for nearly 2 years? now.... It took me a while to get it setup as I had to mount it 2 stories high. Its been mounted for some time now maybe a year but only decided to setup the auto-tracking now. This is when I realized something was wrong and started doing research..

I never knew Dahua products were sold unbranded.. I always assumed it was some knock-off and went with only Dahua branded cameras. Today I went into a local camera store called "MHK Surveillance". All of their cameras were labeled "MHK" but some of them looked like Dahua to me. I will be buying from Andy from now on though.
