I would be extremely suspicious of that, likely comes with $150 shipping costs I'm suspecting.

B&H has the US region dome and bullet for the low price of about 310 :)
Dahua has not released a US region turret...

99% sure I saw gwsec at ISCWest last year and they are just some rented factory space in Shenzhen, if its who i believe they were even in the scary Shenzhen/China/scary off shoot room where 99% of the stuff is unreliable junk "priced right" though to fool some people. Bottom line I would stay away regardless of what hardware/chipsets they claim to use. The hardware is only as good as the programming/firmware/support.

I have a feeling the SSA feature of Dahua is equivalent to the more generic term "DOL-WDR"

Do you live in China? cause they only ship it domestically

@hmjgriffon just had his Ultra take a shit on him and Andy's warranting it from China w/no hassle or expense.. dont be penny wise and pound foolish.

How does the hf8281e compare with the hfw8232e that you had a video review of?

Its the same sensor as the EcoStarlights but with UltraWDR, from what I seen its nothing special.

Correct me if I'm wrong. So the Exmor sensor on 8281 is inferior to the cmos sensor on 8232e?

8281 is showing this:
>1/1.9" 2 Megapixel progressive scan Exmor CMOS

8232e is showing this:
> 1/1.9” 2Megapixel progressive scan CMOS

oh i thought that was the 8231E-Z, the 8281 is a old Ultra with out SSA and weaker optics.. I wouldent bother with it.

What about the IPC-HF8231E with the 1/2.8 sensor but still having SSA? Is that going to be a lot worse than 8232e?

its the same IMX291 sensor in the EcoSavvy 3.0 Starlights, dont think SSA alone is worth doubling the price..

Thats an UltraWDR camera, 140dB of WDR is not really nessicary for most situations.

Theres also the IPC-HF8232F and I'm wondering if the lenses are expensive for these cameras?

Yes lenses are cheaper for the normal sized cameras, thats why we can get Varifocal Starlights for under $200 w/the IMX291

Ive listed all the starlights here: Dahua 2MP Starlight Lineup

So would you recommend buying the Ultra IPC-HF8232F box camera and then buying a lens separately? Where do we buy lenses from?
