Dahua XVR slowly not displaying analog cams

Yeah but the NVR still recording so the bandwidth restriction still applies.

Still as you say if they’ve been working for a year, nothing new, then probably something else.

Always suspect outside connections first.

Finally got into the XVR.
  1. The fan wasn't running (no voltage on the pins; inside was somewhat toasty).
  2. The 3V lithium battery was dead. (Makes me wonder if there's a 3VDC P/S on the mainboard.)
  3. The voltage output of the P/S is about 12.4 VDC on each pin.
  4. One of the network ports vanished (had to readdress cams and xvr; I'd had the cameras on a separate, non-routed LAN).
  5. After futzing with it a bit, the fan worked again for a little while, but voltage disappeared again.
  6. There is minimal dust inside.
  7. There are four HDs, total of about 8TB.
Now that I think about it, there was a change. I plugged the XVF into a UPS a while ago. So, more questions to ponder:
  1. Are these semi-inexpensive (and also inexpensive and cheap) DVRs, XVRs, and NVRs sensitive to AC mains power? That is, will they misbehave or fail if plugged into a non-sine-wave-output UPS? I know some kinds of electronic equipment don't work (well) without sine-wave AC power, but computer-like power supplies usually absorb the rough non-sine-wave power.
  2. Is it possible there is some electrical interaction between the XVR's analog ports/chips and the external 12VDC P/S powering the analog cams that might fry some of the ports?
I suspect that some cameras have simply aged out and failed and some of the XVR's analog ports have failed.
