Doesn't matter, you wont want to record on a used hard drive. i'd bag the spinner that it ships with, and get a Seagate Skyhawk or a WD Purple surveillance drive. like as many Terabytes as you can.....maybe 2- 8Terabyte drives eventually....you might get away with dual 4 Terabytes at home. my Condo has motion, going 24/7 somewhere, and i can save about 14-16 days of data. with an 8 and 5 Terabyte drives. When I let it record beyond 20 days it has to deal with too many files and the guys say it can get buggy beyond 500,000 files to keep track of.Ok… and how large a hard drive in it?
