DH-SD6AL433XA-HNR Tracking Issues

I'm checking to see if there may be a firmware upgrade that would correct some recent tracking problems that have arisen on one of our PTZs, DH-SD6AL433XA-HNR. Maybe someone who has the same or a similar PTZ has run into the same issue and has a fix. The PTZ is wandering and losing its target.

Thank you for the help.

Since you have had the camera awhile, I suspect the sensor has degraded just enough that you may need to do some adjusting with the settings (contrast, etc.) as it may have "faded" just enough to make a difference.

I had to do that on my older PTZs. Even some of my older 5442 cameras.

this. Mine works great
When I get home I’ll post the FW version I’m using

Device TypeSD6AL433XA-HNR
System VersionV2.812.0000047.2.R, Build Date: 2024-07-23
WEB VersionV3.2.1.1969242.P9
ONVIF Version22.06(V3.1.0.1352011)
PTZ VersionV2.401.0000000.64.RHNR_200219_34642

Thank you, Wittaj and Bigredfish, for replying. I did make some adjustments to the image to make it more distinguishable, but I still have some tracking issues. The main problem is that once the target is identified and locked on, within 2 seconds of acquisition, the camera loses the target and starts searching for it, and never tracks a target longer than 5 seconds, but returns to its preset position. I wonder if I would see improvement by updating my "System Version", "WEB Version", and "ONVIF Version"? I am running a Dahua NVR32CH-8XI that has lots of capabilities that I'm not using; I'm only using the camera's Smart Plan and IVS rules. I wonder if I would see any improvements by switching over to the NVR's AI? Thanks again for the help, you guys are the best.

Your post starts with "I'm checking to see if there may be a firmware upgrade that would correct some recent tracking problems that have arisen on one of our PTZs" and you are asking if a more recent firmware would fix a problem that just started happening.

Unfortunately that is how most problems start here when someone immediately thinks upgrade the firmware when something was working correctly and then stopped. And then you find that the new firmware removes a feature you were using or bricks the camera.

As I said, it is likely "burn-in" from the sensor over time and/or the firmware corrupted.

If you are to upgrade properly, best practice is to factory reset the device and apply firmware and then setup from scratch.

Since your device was working properly before and if you feel like you made enough adjustments to the image and settings and it still isn't acting correctly, I would opt for a factory reset first.

No using the NVR AI would not do you any good since the tracking is done within the camera and not the NVR.

Post a sample video here, then as @wittaj says, do a factory reset.

Honestly after that I WOULD do a FW update with it being 4 years older than mine and I know they made improvements over that time.

The FW I'm using is the last issued. I think the camera is EOL or close to it
The FW can be found here under "Downloads"

Thank you, gentlemen, for your replies and suggestions. I haven't done a factory reset yet since I'm still trying to diagnose, but interesting results from testing yesterday at sundown. The PTZs had switched to black and white, and both 433 PTZs tracked perfectly. In the B/W mode, while the sun was setting, the PTZs followed and stayed on target until I went into the trees. Here are my daytime settings, see below. Any suggestions? Thanks again, Wittaj and Bigredfish, for all your help.
