DHI-NVR5432-16P-4KS2 won't boot up after upgrade

Than you need a female to female rs232 cable since the nvr is male and your cable is male too :)

Hi all! :)

I have similar problem.
My device is NVR5216/5232-16P-4KS2E.
It is suddenly stopped working.
It is turning on but not booting up.

I tried to disconnect the cameras and HDDs but it's still the same.

I measured the power supply voltage but i am not sure if its the problem.(or i did it correctly)

I hope some of you can help me out. I am super noob on this topic short videos (how to tutorials) would be super helpful or teamviewer/video chat what i would reshare here to help out noobs like me.

On thé power supply you must find how many volt you should find betwen the yellow and the black cable i mean 12DC

I made further measurements.

For the board looking fine the voltage, but I could not measure any voltage on the 2 pin cable.

No noise at all.

Do you have any idea what kind of power supply should i use to check if its the problem? From an old pc power supply or something...?

yes you can try with 12vdc power supply,
-in black, + yellow cable, without hard drive to limit the courant, choose 1A min supply

Thé réd and white should be for POE.
 
I'd open it up and look for something obvious like a cracked solder joint that could just be reflowed. Other than that, circuit troubleshooting a switcher is a bit advanced.

I have already done that. I can not see any obvious damage. My skill set is way too low for a circuit troubleshooting process.
The new PSU is on the way. I will write here if its worked or not.
