Difference dahua nvr with or without poe

I have the 4108p. Its a nice little nvr. It works with the smart features of the camera. The 4104 should suit you just fine. Get the biggest HD you can as it only holds 1.

Im looking to a simular rig as sander kerkhoff but getting a little confused now as I was looking at NVR4104P but in the spec it states POE and h265.

Sorry gentleman, my apologies. I was inadvertently looking a the 2104.

NVR2104/2108-S2

You can pretty much double the estimates above.

Sorry again.

Thank for clearing that up Solar Deity.

Think this will be a good option for my rig as it supports h265
NVR4104/4108/4116-4KS2 | Dahua Technology

Cameras will be a combination of HDW5231R-Z & HFW5231E-Z and a few legacy Y-cams that will eventually also be updated.

Don't want POE (I have external power source) and want be able to browse each camera from LAN & WAN

I think you'd be very happy with that NVR. I don't have experience with it but if the GUI is similar, with a little time, patience, researching here and the help available, you'll be up and running before you know it.

Just recommend the largest HD you can afford. The 4TB WD Purple is the sweet spot right now for $/TB

I got 2 from @EMPIRETECANDY . Testing it now, but seems like a nice little NVR for homes and businesses. I will order a POE version also for stock, for customers who don't want a separate POE Switch.
This all depends on, some guys wants to use the POE switch to make the power supply, all can be done.

Apologies for dredging up an old thread and for my newb question but which functions can only be accessed via an IP camera directly? Is this just for one time setup/installation features or is it something that you will need to do fairly regularly?
