I helped my folks set up an Dahua 8 channel cctv system earlier this year.
We got everything working and installed the DMSS app on our phones to monitor the cameras remotely.
The app worked fine on their home wifi network as well as my wifi network.
It also worked on mobile cellular data

About 2 weeks ago I stopped being able to access the system from my wifi or cellular networks.
My folks also were no longer able to access the system.

I spent a couple of hours earlier today trying to figure out what the problem was.

I uninstalled DMSS and reinstalled it, used the QR code and couldn't connect.
I downloaded GDMSS and tried to set it up, used the QR code and couldn't connect.

I eventually used the apps to search for the system and managed to connect that way.

We can now connect via their wifi network (on DMSS AND gDMSS) but none of us can connect through anything else.

I tried on my wifi network when I got home as well as cellular networks and can't connect.

None of the system settings were changed previously.
We shut the system (and router) down and rebooted, no change.

Not sure where to go from here...

from the phone (or a remote PC) can you ping your DDNS name successfully ?
Did the NVR IP address change on your home network ?

Sounds like the IP address to the home from your provider changed. My ISP changes our IP address every year or so. Unless you pay for a dedicated business IP they can change it anytime they want.

At the location of the NVR, on a computer not smart phone, go to What Is My IP Address? IP Address Tools and More
I'm guessing if you look at the IP address you're using on your app its different now.
