DMSS IVS Notifications

Ok guys, IVS and SMD notifications are working now in DMSS for iPhone. What happened?

I added a Dahua DB11 (doorbell) to DMSS. Therefore DMSS asked me to switch to account mode. Thats what I did. I deleted the NVR in DMSS and added again in account mode by scanning the QR code. And then the magic happens... all my notifications are working now, even when the app is closed. Now I also get a snapshot in the 'Messages' tab in DMSS.

So actually it's the solution @Herbssat already provided to us  Even when Dahua Benelux advised me to NOT run it in account mode.

Thanks for the update @nelgnl, when I ran it through account it would miss a lot of the motion that should have been detected, and also seemed to load the cameras slower than the local mode. Will give it another try though. Let me know if you receive all your notifications without issue?

Other issues I’ve found with an account mode device is that I cannot sort by ”Smart” detections in the playback filter, nor could I control any image adjustments to each camera (but I could with a local account).

I asked @Wildcat_1 for this issue fast, his reply is very helpful.

Yes, using the account mode is the way to go. Although it shouldn’t be needed it is a sure fire way to ensure the PUSH notifications fire well. It’s not 100% perfect but does work. It also depends on how they have their NVR setup and of course any associated firewall in the mix too

PUSH notifications are generally setup differently on IOS so it’s not surprising it’s implemented differently and may have differences in how each platform works and the quirks that come with it

No I don’t think this is a bug yet. I think users need to use the ‘account mode’ to ensure they get the PUSH notifications correctly. If they receive some but not all after using the account mode then we need to look at their config to see what’s happening their. We would only file a bug IF all IOS users were seeing the problem as that would point to a PUSH server issue BUT we don’t see that yet in this case

@nelgnl nice to know you sort this issue.

So far everything is working fine in my situation. Image adjustment I always do at the web interface at the camera itself so for me no problem :)

Until now it's working fine. When I get any other problem I will come back here ;-)

This been a known issue since DMSS Plus .... before it became free to all app ..

I wouldn't hold my breath of getting this bug fixed anytime soon. It's been like since 2017 or so around.

That's a bit disheartening. I went with Dahua cameras because of their good performance and reputation around here. Had I known that the application wouldn't correctly report and display alerts I would have tried something else.
I still have yet to try the cloud account "fix". But that doesn't leave me with a real positive feeling

Nice to know all work well now. Thank you!

I dont understand why dahua dont want to support their cameras/nvrs with SmartPSS/ APP ... it seems that they aim to support third party applications like blueiris, but their own stuff is somehow useless... i never used it, but i tried it again a bit the last 2 weeks...
i tried it a year ago and there are absolute no changes ..

1) You can not find any SMD/IVS on their apps/software.

There seems new functions in DMSS but they do nothing. they just show "regular" stream when search for human. also nothing is in "intelligent, alarm, smart recording" .........

2) all functions to download a cutted file (example you want part from 8:30 AM to 8:35 AM) dont work via webif , app , smartpss .. it just give you the full block of the selected time...

3) smartplayer start in 4:3 format by default... seems that you cannot change to "original" by default... so you have to change everytime in config first otherwise you see everything in 4:3

4) there new app "DMSS" is really annoying because they including some account/cloud BS in it. Also it shows you "alarm messages" in live feed which seems to have absolute no function / use for whatever .. its the same with their intercom system which is bloated with alarm-system stuff which you cannot hide if you dont use it.

and there are some other strange behaviours / bugs.

i have an imou account and i did not give location permission, and the ivs and smd are working fine on my side

The behaviour of the app is questionable.

why do i need a account
why is it asking for permanent location access if its not needed
why should i store passwords in an account of a company which is simply the chinese government ?

Maybe the SD-card does the trick. At me with NVR and no SD-card Imou won't play SMD and IVD notifications. They show up but don't play.

It probably default to cloud storage on your app.

You will need to click on disk icon at the top of the player to view playback from local storage or NVR if you don't have a cloud service.

Can you take a screenshot of which icon you exactly mean?

The text History ... the two icons underneath it . One for viewing from cloud and other one for viewing from local (NVR or camera scandisk)

The app is connected directly to the NVR, it is not connected to any of the cameras.
