I use Blue Iris to auto post snap shots to my website at specified intervals. I do not need remote access to the cams.
If I only access the cams from the home network, do I really need to use port forwarding?

nobody should ever forward ports to IP Cameras/NVRs under any circumstances.. unless your trying to setup a porn site, and even then you should use a broadcast relay so people cant figure out where you live.. so I take that back, never forward ports to cameras, especially if your trying to setup a porn site.

Port forwarding is used for remote access. Since you dont need remote access you dont need port forwarding.
