hi friends, I updated my cam to version 5.3.0. Language is only in Chinese, I read the various posts on the form, but I have not found the solution. Thanks friends.

Two options:

1) Downgrade back to 5.2.5 and do the mtd hack, there's a sticky in this forum
2) Login via Google Chrome browser and use the translate function

Personally I'd just to latter. Less effort and no chance of bricking it.

could also try the 5.3.0 to 5.2.5 downgrader from @whoslooking might go back to english by using it.

I would recommend downgrading to 5.1.6 if you look through my posts you will find the full English firmware, it has more fuctions than any other fw release to date.

You could also do the mtd hack after downgrading then this camera will remain english always and could be updated with the english fw releases without problems.

You must have MTDUTILS and worked sharing with PC/NAS.

Manipulate with bytes (02 to 01 in lang and X to X+1 for example 33 to 34 or 9A to 9B in for example date), checkum will be same.

Mount

cd /mnt/nfs00

To copy the mtd files

cat /dev/mtdblock5 > temp5
cat /dev/mtdblock6 > temp6

Change the flag bytes using HxD editior,
Then putting them back with the changed block:

cat temp5 > /dev/mtdblock5
cat temp6 > /dev/mtdblock6
Reboot

Yes 5.2.0 to 5.3.0 is possible but you must do the mtd hack first.
