DS-2CD2335-I and QNAP

Hi Guys

I am looking at a DS-2CD2335-I from an AliExpress dealer that is shipping with v5.4.2 firmware.

I haven't been able to find much feedback on what this firmware version is like, nor what issues I might have with managing it with QNAP Surveillance Station.

Any tips/pointers?

QNAP Surveillance Station 5.1.1.0 does not explicitly support the DS-2CD2335-I - it's not in the QNAP compatibility list either.
However - just for curiosity I just added a CN DS-2CD3335-I using the DS-2CD2332 model choice, and if you ignore the (informational, not fatal) message 'camera model mismatch error' it connects OK. Hikvision do apply a pretty consistent use of their CGI/IPMD across the different models and firmware.
Be aware though that you will only be able to use motion events, not line crossing or intrusion events, as SS does not support Hikvision 'smart events;'.

Thanks Alastair. I guess it is highly likely that it will work, but as you say, none of the smart events will work. [Thought I posted this last week!]
