Hi folks,

my first HIKs arrived yesterday.

I ordered a DS-2CD2335I Multilanguage Version with Firmware 5.3.3.

Want to check the build quality and opened it, looks really good.

Something confuses me : on the PCB is a Sticker with Modelnumber 2CD2342WD-I, which is clearly the US/EU Version of this cam. On the outer case is a sticker with with the DS-2CD2335I Model number.

Anybody seen this before ? Does this mean i can flash the the english Version on this cam ??

Regards,
Andre

There it shows 2CD2335I, so it is
only the same hardware.

Wierd.

2xx5 and 2xx2 aren't just different firmware as the hardware is very different too.

Looking at the spec of a 4MP xx5 it seems it has a different sensor, as regarding resolution and also sensitivity 0.07 instead of 0.01 of xx2.
So it should the same with a 3MP 2335 vs 2332, more worse with a 4MP 2342.

Maybe the mainboard is the same on the 2 models and they change only the sensor and adapt the software.

That is possible, if it is printed on the pcb and they just stick another sensor to the pcb with the same pinout. But why put a sticker on it ?

I would use a sticker to separate the PCB revisions and not put it on to all PCB, no matter what sensor it has...

Still confusing.
