Getting the "no signal" on Blue Iris randomly. Not sure how to diagnose but here is what I did so far. First cat5e (full copper) run was about 70 feet and it was ran next to AC wires in the garage. Second run was a separate wire ran on the ground seeing if the problem was AC interference, still random no signal. 3rd time, I dismounted the camera and plugged directly into the POE switch with a short cable, still random no signal. Tried different ports on the POE switch. The POE switch is a TP Link SG1008P which delivers up to 15.4 watts per port. The 2342 pulls max 7.5 watts. The no signal happens whether the EXIR is illuminated or not. Tried viewing both the live view from the camera and the Blue Iris view when the no signal occurs and they both lose the live image and camera becomes non-responsive. Lastly, I put the camera in a dark room, waited for another no signal and when it happens, the IR is still illuminated. Help! lol

Camera FW V5.4.1 build 160525

sounds like you isolated it to a faulty camera..

Try resetting the camera to defaults, and test again w/minimal setup/configuration as possible.
Try bench testing the camera without PoE, but using a 12vdc 1A wall-wart.
Make sure your not getting an IP Conflict, either with a static assigned DHCP lease or ensuring your IP is not within your DHCP lease range if using static setup.

If the above also fail to gain positive results; then warranty it if possible.. or toss it into the rubbish pile.

Can you still ping the camera at it's IP address, or see it in SADP when 'No Signal' occurs?
If not, this would suggest the camera may be rebooting randomly.

There is no response from the camera when; using browser, or using SADP. I even put the camera on a separate poe injector/wireless extender. Unfortunately I cant wait for the new firmware in december that Hikvision is supposed to release because I only have a 30 day return from seller. Im not rolling the dice on $200 plus dollars.

Anyone think that I can install an older firmware as a test? My other problem with the Longse S500 was cured of the same problem with a different firmware. My only concern is warranty. If i mess with it and it bricks, I don't want to eat it.

leave the firmware alone

Returning the cam to the seller. If things get worked out then I will order one down the road. Dont want to get stuck with a dud. My 2632 has been great with no problems other than the bright center illumination and weak edge illumination.

Hi,
I have the DS-2CS2042WD-I model, same firmware version but my problem is even more strange.
Timing Snapshot function (set to capture screen every 15 min all day/all week) suddendly stop, usually in the mornig (7.45 - 8.15 am), and restart only after 6-10 hours.
During this "dark period" the camera is perfectly reachable, live playback is ok, manual ftp and Smb/cifs test are ok so it is not a server response problem.
Tried to split day scheduling in multiple time slot instead one, tried to set different NTP settings, tried configuration reset, no success, the same behaviour every day

If rebooted, the camera take only one capture and then nothing for hours

Bought from Amazon, Hikvision doesn't offer me support, so I think that next days the product will be send back to the reseller

Any ideas?

Thanks for your advice. Camera was not available in SADP nor browser. I did not try to ping it. This thing is still boxed up ready for return but I have hoop dreams some resolve will surface on here. 22 days to return. Come on people! lol

I've seen a ton of posts about Hik not wanting to help if you don't buy from an authorized seller. That's why I bought from B&H Photo. Costs more but I wanted support. I for some foolish reason, have not contacted them.

Thats way too much for that cam...contact milkisbad...otherwise or better yet, consider this camera. Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)
Note that you will not brick your cam if you update a B&H camera. They are 100 percent legit US region.
