After updating the DS-7608NI-SE/P to firmware version V3.0.15 build 150528 all DS-2CD3332-I cameras give a language mismatch.

The DS-2CD3332-I cameras are: Firmware Version: V5.2.3 build 141024, Encoding Version: V5.0 build 140714.

Can you tell me how I can proceed to fix this problem? Do a firmware update?

I think there is a problem with the region settings between the DS-7608NI-SE/P and the camera's.

Thank you for your advice.

When you purchased these cameras were they pre-patched to English or was the OSD/web interface/day of the week in Chinese?

You are correct, the region flag in the camera is broadcasting as Chinese-region while the NVR is western (US) region and is rejecting them like orphans. You may be able to try @whoslooking's 5.3.0 to 5.2.5 downgrader to bring those cameras to an English version of 5.2.5 via TFTP. I have only ever used the firmware that he provided to bring up my pre-patched 5.2.3 cams to 5.2.5 in full English region everything via web interface upgrade, I've never once TFTP recovered them using that same method. I don't have the thread in front of me but read his thread and instructions and that's probably your best bet.

Alternatively, if the recorder will let you downgrade firmware, go that route. (that's an SE model 7600 so it's much older so you have a better chance of that than on newer ones)

Ideally fixing the camera is the more permanent solution as you can continue to upgrade the recorder without worry of further regional restrictions (for now).

EDIT: found it

I Disconnected the camera's form the NVR and put them on a POE switch and looked them up with SADP, the firmware version is changed to V5.2.5 build 141201 (from V5.2.3 build 141024). And one of the cameras is lost... very strange...

Any ideas to fix this problem? Thanks ahead.

I tried to use the same firmware update through the TFTP server, no luck:

I would not use the 4-line cross detection, I would use the single line cross detection firmware. I've personally had better luck with that one.

It's on that same page, so try it again with the non-4-line firmware version and see if it works.

As far as the resend issue, I ran into this problem many times in the past, but it's because I had to recover some remote cameras that the only way to invoke recovery mode was to power cycle it. 1 needed recovered, but there were 5 in the circuit, so power cycling put 5 cams into recovery mode at the same time and the TFTP server got overwhelmed. I'm willing to bet your cams are not up on telephone poles so by default yours are much easier to work with than mine. Make sure you are doing these one at a time, TFTP is a 1-1 process and not 1-many. I have 3 cams not showing up in the same manner as you described. I wish I could help you further but it involved getting out the extension ladder to pull them down. These cameras are also outdoor out in the open so I have natural elements as a factor to work against as well. Wouldn't surprise me if water got somewhere it wasn't supposed to and the cameras need replaced. I have yet to look.

DS-2CDMin-system is as it implies "mini system" which is a low level recovery mode that allows it to broadcast saying it's dead, but can't really do much to connect with it without recovering firmware.

Before giving TFTP another go, try and use the web interface first (if you can navigate to the firmware upgrade tab if you remember where it is) and upgrade the CN 5.2.5 with the English 5.2.5 (non-4-line) and see if that fixes it. If that doesn't, then use TFTP again for that same firmware file.

Hi CoreyX64,

Thank you again for your response, I have used the webinterface to upload the firmware version @whoislooking 5.30 Downgrader. The camera is still in Chinees and I still have a language mismatch.

I'll try the the TFTP version now and give you a update.

Your half way there, if you check the camera's info you will now see your on firmware 5.25 (Chinese).

Now you need the MTD hack to be done, watch the video again few times before trying. its not hard but the video makes it even easier.

I have used the file that you refereed to form @whoislooking, firmware update through TFTP went well, still a language mismatch with the NVR.

I Hope that @whoislooking can shine his light on this issue.
