I have just purchased a UK DS-7616NI . It has firmware V3.0.10 build 141126 loaded and is working well.

Would it be possible to advise me whether this is the latest version and if not what advantage would be gained by updating?

Thanks

Well, there is the very new 3.3.0 version here: http://overseas.hikvision.com/en/download_89.html#prettyPhoto
But tread warily - some return routes closed off:
Software Description:

Support Models:
DS-7600NI-E1, DS-7600NI-E2, DS-7600NI-E1/N(P), DS-7600NI-E2/N(P), DS-7700NI-E4, DS-7700NI-E4/N(P),DS-8608/16/32NI-E8

Updates:
1.Password creating is required before using the NVR (Local GUI menu, web browser, client software and SADP software are optional);
2. Password strength prompts(Risk,Weak, Medium, Strong) in NVR local GUI menu, web browser, client software and SADP software, and risk password is not permitted;
3. Lock the remote IP addresses for 30 minutes once login with wrong username or password after several times;
4. Can not be downgraded to lower firmare version;
5. For more details, please refer to our release notes.
And in theory if you want to be adventurous you could load the 3.2.1 version for 7816N-E2 / 8P from here: http://www1.hikvision.com/cn/download_more_699.html#prettyPhoto
There is a thread on here by DaveP with some info on that, but again there are some ways back closed off.

Thanks for your reply and links. I suspect that I'll resist the temptation for now. The improvements are not compelling, but I do appreciate it will include some fault fixing.

My NVR is a genuine UK model so putting foreign firmware on to it seems a bit perverse.

Thanks agai
