DS-7716N-E4/16P - another email issue

Somewhere around the end of July my old 7108 stopped sending notification emails to me.

I've just got a new DS-7716N-E4/16P that I installed and have the same issue. I cant simply send emails from the NVR.

The whole point of having it all is to be able to get a notification incase something happends.

As you can see gmail is not involved. Ive tried 3 different domains and I still get the same issue.

any suggestions?

Its a great system but it all fails due to this :(

A basic test would be to establish if name resolution is working OK.
This is usually possible by having a fully-qualified domain name for the ntp service, and using the test button there. There is a lot less that needs to be right to get a successful result than with email.
If that fails, and you are using your router's DNS relay service for DNS, try using google's 8.8.8.8 as an experiment. Anecdotally, that works better than a LAN router for Hikvision networking.
If even that doesn't work, trying either / both the email and ntp tests with a resolved IP address will confirm or not the basic level of the networking.
