Hi,

I have been trying to update the firmware on my NVR but it keeps refusing to load the new firmware. I have previously upgraded to 3.4.95 downloaded I thought from the European website.

I've tried a few different versions, 3.4.93, 3.4.96 & 4.1.10 from DOWNLOAD PORTAL

Using webinterface it just comes back as "Upgrading failed". via a usb stick and the local interface it also doesn't load. I'm trying to use the digicap.dav file.

Wondering what I might be doing wrong? Any chance it fails due to my hard disks being 100% full? Does it try to store the file on the local hard disk before doing an upgrade?

cheers,

Matt

Wrong way you need to update via web best way make sure you have the plugin installed

upgrade to V3.4.96 build170921 then to V4.1.10 build171107 wait into it full rebuilds your hard drive database then update to V4.1.50 build180227
unzip the folder to show the digicap.dav files then upload via web
use STD file's

also where did you bought it from and does the SN have CCRR or WR in the Sn number

it seems like your's is a china hacked one if it's saying upgrade failing

Hi Paul,

I will give it another go with the links you gave. SN has CCRR in it. Purchased locally in Australia from Ingrammicro

cheers,

Matt

Maybe I am missing it but I can't see any NVR firmware on that Australian site link.

I was sure I got to the 3.4.95 I loaded previously via the European site but might not be remembering correctly. I'm having an issue with 3.4.95 so even getting 3.4.96 loaded would be useful.

I figure trying to upgrade to 4.x is probably best done when I am near the unit. I'll give it a try once I am back in the place in a couple of days time.
Thanks for the suggestion about Hik USA site.

what version is the nvr running? via web interface when updating to 4.1 your hard drives will go offline and say repairing this is ok it will take a few hour's as it's a massive upgrade just make sure your running 3.4.92

Not tried as yet. I'm just a few 100' km away from the unit and if it doesn't come back would prefer it not to be offline until I can get there to the console.

Unfortunately the USA version has the same problem.

Attempted both via web interface & directly on the console. Have attached copies of the error messages from both.

Yes, rebooted to start with, and using the straight digicap.dav from inside the zip file.

Have attached copies of the error messages from both.
Long shot - the folder path may be too long or have invalid characters embedded from the point of view of the NVR firmware.
Try a shorter path without non-alpha characters.

Good idea, but unfortunately the same result.

Is there a way to tftp or ftp the upgrade image, but still have it verified before it loads it? ie, don't want to brick the NVR.
