DS-CD2035-1 password changed, hacked or a fault?

Got it now, and yes it works perfectly.

The password you extracted was correct too. :)

Don't allow internet access - or set up a VPN instead.

I did brick (and fix, thanks!) my 2032, so i think i'll leave well enough alone for now. I do access the cameras remotely myself using some pretty basic NAS security software, so i'd like to keep the link open. I've got the tools to put it right if i'm picked up again.

Thank you very much for your time, it's a valuable commodity and very much appreciated.[/QUOTE]

Hi Nik seriously put a vpn in front of your cameras. The backdoor liability happened to me, more than once, and I wrote the steps to do this on a post here.

You will need to buy a router that supports the VPN Server - I bought an ASUS. OpenVPN is the client on the phone and laptop and phone or laptop connects to the VPN server on your router with one extra step.

Search VPN VPN Server or ASUS on the Hikvision Camera site here and I wrote the steps.

Since I put a VPN server in front and disabled port forwarding no more problems. If you leave your setup as is you will continue to loss access to your cameras.
