DSS Express Replace the SmartPss

“Lite” is indeed just that. Smaller footprint less resources.

I have installed newer versions (not the latest) on top of old ones, but best to uninstall the old one first I think

I don't know which version is considered the new one. I'm running this one and so far it's no worse than the version I was running previously.

I've installed over old versions a couple of times with no problems noted.

The wine I was using was version 6.12. Maybe time to try it again. Thanks for the info.

This might be good for when Dahua Smart PSS is no longer avaliable to download and someone does not want to use DSS Express. Although Amcrest might also upgrade to this as well.

Did you find out if 'Amcrest Surveillance Pro' runs with/detects your Dahua NVR?
Anyone know a free and modern Dahua viewer (or clone but not BI) > that lets me have 3 liveview windows (on 3 monitors) and works in Windows11?
  • If you see my other thread: SmartPSS + Win11 > Cant display "Liveview" on Third Monitor (glitched/vid feed disappears)
    1. SmartPSS is buggy on win11, and 3rd monitor display fails (even when running it as Win8 or 10 mode).
    2. SmartLite wont let me make 3 live windows.
    3. So im forced to run SmartPSS (2 windows) and SmartLite (3rd window on third monitor) at the same time on a mini Computer (using 100% resources). Thanks Dahua for your crippleware.
  • Im running out of space on this mini PC (that I bought just to view cams). So to see if 3rd window works - I have not test installed:
    • Amcrest Surveillance Pro,
    • nor SmartPSS__ V2.003.0000004.1.R.230310.
    • (have SmartPSS V2.003.0000001.0.R.200413 - 3rd monitor test failed on Win11).

Dit werkt in ieder geval niet als een enkele cliënt, hij ziet mijn NVR niet
en geeft een time-out voor een mislukte aanmeldingsaanvraag

Although honestly SmartPSS seems to me much more reliable and better than the Lite version... ;)

This needs to be localhost address of 127.0.0.1 if you are running server on same PC as the client or IP of the server PC, also the port should be 443 which is the access port of the server at default
