“Lite” is indeed just that. Smaller footprint less resources.

I have installed newer versions (not the latest) on top of old ones, but best to uninstall the old one first I think

I don't know which version is considered the new one. I'm running this one and so far it's no worse than the version I was running previously.


I've installed over old versions a couple of times with no problems noted.

Where did you get this? I only see this the older 2020 version: DahuaWiki

I've watched over some videos with Amcrest cameras.
Amcrest uses Smart PSS under the branding of 'Amcrest Surveillance Pro'.

This might be good for when Dahua Smart PSS is no longer avaliable to download and someone does not want to use DSS Express. Although Amcrest might also upgrade to this as well.
