Effectiveness of footage leading to actual arrests, or any other camera sstories?

I hered that if cars are stolen from the streets with CCTV surveillance these cars mostly will be found sooner or later which can't be said about cars, stolen in places without camera surveillance. Help of CCTV in crime clearance is difficult to iverestimate.
