EmpireTech 8th Anniverasay Sales July.18th-23rd

Refurbished List has been updated on page 1st, have some hot things! Catch it.
We also get some kits, cams with NVR, so would be a good chance to buy a whole kit in one time.

New hot thing I see on the list are the IPC-Color4K-T180. But both Refurbished SD4A425DB-HNY and SD49425XB-HNR ptz are gone with the updated list. That were the 2 items I was intrigued.

I was considering two T180 for sky cams, but had to talk myself out of it.

Personally, I think IPC-Color 4k-X 2.88MM is a better sky cam than T180 because the view is too narrow. If I remember correct you got an extra 4K-T that is also better than the T180 for Sky cam function already.

I have a 5442 a 4K-x and a 4K-T running as sky cams. Number1 is the 4K-X series. It appears the
supporting electric boards are better in the 4K-x for low light, like stars than the turret cams.

Tweaking the 4K-X I find that when one adjusts the compression around 45% to 50% the background
will change from a green to blue background, when used as a sky cam.

My thought for the T-180s was that I could get more coverage with less physical cams and $$.

Maybe I keep an eye on the refurb list for 2.8mm 4K-Ts. The one I have is a 3.6mm, although I am sure I could eventually make 4 of those work.

That thing looks impressive...Almost like it should also come equipped with a mini gun...
Makes my 49225 look like an infant.
If only I could convince my wife we need one...

This thing would do well mounted on top of something like this:

It's really got an "Eye of Sauron" feeling to it. Hahaha. Talk about active deterrence.

I'm thinking about doing a sky cam. I'm glad i bumped into this post. @garycrist Looks like the 4K-x is great. But was also looking at the spec on the 180-turret last night while I was mulling over the camera sale.

I would be absolutely thrilled to win any of the prizes, but that PTZ... oh my! :D I know where I'd put it, top of the A-Frame which is above the garage. Hence, would need to hire a low volt electrician to run the wire and install the camera. No way I'm going up on the roof and running wire through my attic etc... ugh. That would give a great over view from the front of my house.

But, any of the prizes would be great. I have decided to get another 5442 to replace my Lorex camera above my electrical panel. Just waiting for the sale to begin!

I am was thinking the same way as you @Flintstone61. But I showed Andy some Oculus
sky cams. They have a fish-eye lens to cover the whole sky with 1 cam. (IDEA) They want $1K to $1400 USD
for them
Lets see if we can get a 4K-X with a fish-eye lens. Or who can do surgery on a cam?
