Ok now back to the nighttime settings with the new location. I went back through the thread and updated everything. I just saw a car pass on the rekor agent. The tag was readable but the car was moving to fast for it to capture. I saw the little box around the tag. Would that mean I need to goto 1/2000?

Increasing the shutter speed only deals with catching a readable plate.

You might have to back out the zoom a bit if Rekor didn't capture it as a plate/motion.

it does in the daytime no issues so you're saying on the night setting back it out a smidge?

Yeah. I am guessing the plate must be past it so fast that it doesn't acknowledge it.

ok its me... again :D

I have everything set as far as focus and speed. I am getting plates but the picture is dark. Is there a setting that makes the plate brighter?

What are your latest settings?

Every setting impacts brightness, especially - shutter, brightness, gain, gamma, and infrared.

You can crank those up to a point before it counteracts and conflicts with other settings.

Make sure the Illuminator is at 100.

I would try moving gain to 50 or 55.

Make NR the same for both - try 30.

If the gain doesn't work then try slowing the shutter a bit - maybe 1/1500 or 1/1000 and see if the plates are still clean.

Sounds good - Illuminator is at 100

Thanks! I'll try these settings tonight and see how it shapes up.

Your settings images dont match the FOV of your sample nighttime shot? two different cameras?

As far as being so dark, IF you're really getting 100% on the IR, I agree with @wittaj , dropping to 1/1000 probably make the biggest difference...

Whats the distance to capture point?

Same FOV it just captured it at the beginning of the frame. Maybe 80-90 ft to the capture point.
