Hey guys

The NVR5 series 4KS2/4KS2E V2.0 need to update the firmware asap, there has a cyber security issue need to fix up.

Can you address what cyber security issue might be?

I have V4.002.0000000.7.R, Build Date: 2024-07-17 installed (NVR5208-8P-4KS2), and I see there are numerous Zhejiang Dahua Technology connection throughout the day and night to my NVR. I have all the NVR ports closed on the NVR but these connections are to numerous ports, but upload and download. I have never seen any documentation on these numerous Dahua connections. Do you have any idea what Dahua is accessings?

If you have P2P or UPnP enabled, that would be it. P2P is needed in order to receive alerts, so if you are receiving alerts, then that is the connections being made.

One last question, I don't see any documentation on improvements for this firmware ((NVR5208-8P-4KS2).

Do you have the DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.002.0000000.8.R.241030 version instead of the General_ version?

Can you briefly explain why the ZIP version include other files besideds the .bin file such as u-boot.img, update.img,custom-xsquahfs.img, etc).

it's available on undefined - Dahua Technology (second position)...

other files (*.img) are for camera/NVR recovery over rs232...

When I upgraded the firmware on my NVR5208-8P=4KS2 to DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.002.0000000.6R and above, I lost the capability to partially zoom in and out on the 6 IPC=HDW2231R=ZS (firmware 2.800.0000004.0R.2019-01-22) cameras that I purchased from you. Previous firmware versions allowed partial zoom in and out.. Is there a later firm for this camera that will allow the partial zoom?

Fully aware of potential problems. But I wished there was a notice that some Dahua cameras features such as PTZ were no longer supported. Now I have 7 cameras that won't partially zoom, unless I connect directly to the camera (requires virtual host to be turn on).
