EmpireTech latest New firmware, Device Guide video, Manual WEB5.0

He has all of the latest firmware on his website. As there are several models of the 5442, make sure you select the right one:

I saw that but I was confused about the dates. It says "2022-08-18 / 2023-12-21" which I assume means 2022-08-18 for smart IR and 2023-12-21 for non smart IR. Is there a reason the smart IR firmware is so much older?

I have the same question. Something seems a little off and no firm guidance here so I have stayed with Dahua builds for now.

I just updated from V2.840.0000000.25.R.230425 to V2.840.0000000.27.R.240322 - so far, so good.
The Dahua zip contains 3 binaries. I only flashed the first and there is no indication of having to flash others, as far as I can tell. I could be wrong though as the firmware size is different in the two releases.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

You should flash also firmware.bin as second one...
it contains new data for AI algorithms (SMD, IVS etc)...

If you don't do it, you can find that there is algorithm mismatch in system firmware version page..
Thank you!

I just flashed firmware.bin and all is well.

Thank you so much.

That com. Message usually means it is corrupt. Try a few factory resets and see if it works.

Ok thank you. Some time when i factory reset my camera, i don't know why, but i have some problem with the IP assignment and i have to reset it using the physical button. Do you know how can i avoid to do it?
All my cameras are on a static IP.

A factory reset will default the camera back to the original 192.168.1.108 IP address.

Best practice whenever updating firmware is to do 3 factory resets, flash firmware, 3 factory resets. Enough people that can get "under the hood" of the firmware has shown that sometimes 1 factory reset isn't enough to get all the cobwebs out.

In doing so, you do have to reset the camera up from scratch again.

In addition to either bricking a camera or losing a feature we were previously using, having to set up the camera again is another reason why most of us don't fix what ain't broke and if the camera is working for your needs, we do not update them!

Sometime i see 192.168.1.108, some time if i remember well the old IP and the new, but when i connect to that IP the camera skip the initialization part, i can't insert the new password, and if i try to connect again the page stay in loading like if there is a conflict IP and i can't connect, so i need to reset it through the physical button, and then all works good.

It could be a router problem? some settings that i missed?

Maybe clear the cache on your browser, or try a different browser, if that don't work, check to see if Anti-Virus software blocked site

Hey guys

I just update the firmware download link on the PDF file Firmware upgrade and Download, not easy for guys to download via firmware name, so the website will be much easier.

We also add the improvement to the download page too.

I installed updated firmware on my NVR5208-8P-4KS2 to V4.002.0000000.7.R, Build Date: 2024-07-17 without any problems.

This newer firmware only allows full zoom in or zoom out on IPC-HDW22IR-ZS cameras. Previous firmware allowed partial zoom in and out.
