Empiretech PTZ4K45X-AI settings

I just tested it, and I could see it was following me into the driveway and it turned with me, but within 10 seconds of getting past it, it returned back to the home preset.

There are no alerts either, so the settings for these other PTZ cameras I have don't work for this one.

I grabbed the clip of me entering the driveway. It's Saturday night and I guess my PTZ has been drinking a bit too much... made me dizzy watching it.

I tried to upload it, but got the oops something went wrong error, so I just uploaded it to my server:

The ptz start tracking your car at the 25 second mark of the video but lost track when it zoom in and blocked by the pole. And then restart tracking at the 36 second mark but then got drunk. lol

What is your PTZ's tracking Target Ratio set at? I set mine at 40, but since your ptz was installed quite low, maybe set it to 30 to see if it can track better?

When you set your PTZ's tracking Target Ratio too high, it will try to zoom in on the target and easier lost track of it.

I had it set on 35... changed it to 30 and it will get tested several times tomorrow (later today).

Tracking is set to 300 seconds, so it should have followed me down the driveway and stayed zoomed in on me pretty much all the way to the house.

Still no love for this very expensive camera. The 25x is much easier to set up and actually works.

Here's from the All Clips ... the Alert stops tracking as the truck turns into the driveway.

Can't upload to forum... doesn't like my video clips for some reason: (I missed the very end with it parking back to the preset - this is the last you see before it returns home).

My mother's driveway is about 600ft from the pole and our house is about 1200ft away. I was hoping to track down the driveway until it can't track any further.

It does a great job when a vehicle leaves or when a vehicle passes by. Watch this one.

If I can get it to do that coming into the driveway... it will serve its purpose.

It tracks it to a certain point down the driveway, albeit a bit drunkenly, but it stops too soon.

I've made an adjustment in the Trigger tab to extend the alert duration, but that does not extend the tracking time, which should be 300 seconds and it's coming up considerably short.

It can do that. But if it cant zoom out when the car passes the camera position, it is likely to lose the object.

Normaly these cams are mounted higher than normal , even if the object passes near the position of the cam, it can look down and still be able to see the whole object when zooming out.

Should I lower the Tracking Target Size Ratio from 25 to 20?

Or is this just a lost cost unless I move the camera farther away and higher up?

I can move it and run a cable underground and up a pole. I've already spent $2K+ on the camera... I need it to do what I need it to do.

How far is far enough?

Lower the TTSR one step at a time and re-test after each change.

Just test it.

Lowering the target ratio will give you the "bad" target even if you want it further zoomed in. It might help you the near position, but will worse everything else.

How far is far enough?

In theory it should work if it can see the whole car at Z1 when the object is near the cam
If thats already the case, lowering the target ratio should help

It's tracking past the pole, but it only tracks so far before stopping. This is as far as it will track before returning to the preset, which is not nearly as far as it tracks when a vehicle is leaving the house.

Would it help to have this position as preset 2 and set a tripwire here to retrigger it?

Yes, but you would need a way to push it to that preset with a spotter cam or maybe a timer in BI.

Any chance you can get that PTZ higher? That one really benefits from a higher install like 20 or 30 feet high.

And as others have said, the camera is too close to the object you are tracking as it comes past and that can be problematic.

I could get another pole, but 14-16ft would be about as high as I could get it and be able to service it without renting equipment.

I could install the pole farther away from the driveway. I could set it farther down the driveway and 30 feet from the driveway, about 14-16 feet high. There may not be a spot where I could avoid the two poles and the gate that will be there, and everything will have to pass by while it is tracking.

Even if you mount it higher at the actual position, it might be problematic.
Cars tend to speed up after the curve. Sure it can do tracking of fast object.. but it might be problematic if its so close the the cam itself. The car will be out of view too fast.

Not possible to mount the cam more away from the fence ?!

maybe somewhere here ?

Yes... I mentioned setting a pole 30ft from the fence. I just don't want to install it any higher than 14-16ft from the ground because then I'd have to rent something to service it. I don't know how often that would be, but I'd have to rent something to get it up that high to start with, then again if it needed servicing.

I got it tracking like I want it to track with the second preset and intrusion trigger. It tracks me until it can't see me. That tree is about to be gone.

This is what I was looking for in this video.

The issue now is the alert for it. It's in All Clips, but there is no alert for it. What am I missing to get the alert set correctly?
