Every time my Internet drops my cameras are assigned a new IP address, I only view them at home. Can I assign them a permanent IP address? I would assume you assign a static IP address in the router? My foscam cameras are model FI9853EP and I have a 2 wire gateway router from U verse. Details please
 
It's a poor dhcp server implementation that does not re-assign the same IP to each MAC address by default.

that said, fenderman is correct in that you could explicit assignments in your router's dhcp config (reservations) for each camera getting an ip via dhcp.

or disable dhcp in the cameras and assign each a unique static IP address NOT in your dhcp range.

check the routers DHCP settings and it should say the start address and the number size of the pool or the start and end address ( i.e 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.254 or 192.168.0.10 - 100 ) depending on the routers modle.

unchecking the DHCP will set the foscam to 192.168.1.93 as a static address this is correct, we need to see the screen shot of the routers dhcp settings :-) as the router may assign .93 to a new device on the network and cause a network conflict.
 
I figured I could make my static IP addresses 192.168.1.60 and the other one 192.168.1.61

Just know that if you don't take those two addresses out of the dhcp pool you could run into some collisions on your network. If you start getting errors on your computers or other equipment isn't working then it could be that they are obtaining the same IP Address. I'm thinking your dhcp server assignment must be for like two days at a time or something short like that if it's giving out a new, different IP each time your internet drops.
 
Your main gateway/router should have an option to bind ip addresses to mac addresses in it's DHCP menu. This way the camera and other clients will always have a fixed (not static) ip address, and you can edit which IP address goes to what device.
What router are you using for DHCP? Maybe give us the model and firmware version and we can help find where to input this information. Some consumer wireless routers may not have a lot of options here though...

Same issues with Amcrest cams... tried switching to static IP and still lose my cameras. totally noob here and to this field
 
Hey thanks for your reply! switched on the network settings not cameras. where should I change camera settings. Honestly picked up the amcrest cams bec they were under $40 on eBay for factory refurbs relying on Amazon "reviews"... finally had unpleasent awakening when had package stolen and didn't record. haven't gotten them working properly either its them or me or both lol

What network settings?
all you need to do is follow the direction above and use dhcp reservation...its the simplest solution...then you dont have to change anything in the camera...
