Recently I had an event that happened in the night, my NVR hikvision 7608ni-e2/p is set to continuous record so when I wanted to export that few second event it was not possible but I had to download a 900mb file. Which is not ideal

is there anyway in which I could somehow just export that few seconds event?
 
For a short extract - the easiest way might be to use the 'Clip' tool in the web GUI playback page.
Position the playback to a bit before you want it to start, hit Play, click the Clip tool when you want to start, click the Clip tool when you want it to finish.
Retrieve the video clip from the Download Files folder that's configured.
If you are quick - you can see the location in the (too) brief pop-up window bottom right when you stop the clip.
