Large garbage can with a foot of water. No water resulted in no rat by morning time.

Water in bucket is critical.
Lotsa youtube videos of rat traps that drop 'em into water filled buckets.
On this site, we're fascinated by stopping the human invaders.
Thwarting rat invaders is a much harder story. No APD based on face shots....
