I'm trying to access my family's IPCAM remotely, but I cannot remember which brand it is.

Is there any way of working this out remotely?

It tries to install WebPlugInstaller.exe when login.
^ I cannot get this plugin to work at all.

There is absolutely no branding on this camera whatsoever

Any help would be appreciated

If you're getting the notification to install the plug-in, then you're where you need to be, just use Internet Explorer (it's hides in Windows 10, just do a search for it inside Windows) or go get Palemoon browser, 32 bit, then download/install the plug-in.

EDIT: once you're logged in (I assume you know the cam's username & password), the built-in webGUI may shed some light, go exploring.
Also, look at the tabs revealed by "properties" when you right-click on the downloaded WebPlugInstaller.exe file.

You may not be able to do this remotely - but assuming the camera supports ONVIF, ONVIF Device Manager from sourceforge.net provides lots of useful info, not just about branding but RTSP stream URLs, ports etc.
