Firefox v52 no longer runs vlc plugin, cannot access cameras

Running LInux, using Firefox I was able to use LiveView on cameras with VLC npapi plugin.
Latest version of FF (v52) no longer supports that plugin.

Any thoughts, other than VM, on how to access cameras? My only other choice is QuickTime, I have never been able to get that working and I gather it too may no longer work with new FF

I don't know if anyone answered this before, but I just found an easy solution that works for me (on Windows though, but I guess it would work on Linux as well.
Just download and install Firefox ESR here: Mozilla Firefox Web Browser — Download Firefox Extended Support Release in your language

As mentioned elsewhere here, that will only work in the very near future, or unless you never update your browser again.

If I understand well, the ESR version will be maintained with security updates one year from now.
If one year is "very near future", I guess you are right...
