I've always found when needing to review LOTS of footage quickly it's a lot easier to do so at the physical NVR and not over the network or in the software, especially when wanting to use 16x or 32x fast forward with multiple cameras up at once.

I've used these monitors numerous times before and love them as stand alone displays throughout a location.

Here is what it looks like mounted with all the AV cabinet, cable home runs, and NVR. The NVR feeds a powered HDMI splitter to push feeds throughout the house and the monitor just connected to it as well.

zero-degrees,
Is the monitor always on? Or did you figure out a clever way to have it turn on when;
- the closet door is opened, or
- when an "event" is detected?

Also, since each monitor is connected to the NVR, you connect a mouse to go through recorded video? (without going to the NVR in the AV closet)

Fastb

Wireless mouse connected and just sits on the rack. Haven't really tried to take it anywhere else in the house.

The monitor is off unless I need it, power button is on the front so no biggie really.

Where would one find these little gems Zero? Nice install! The only monitors similar to these that I have been able to find is a small 7" on a goofy desktop mount.

I've used the 9 and 12.5 ones, never gone larger. The 9 is what's in this thread.
Amazon.com: Pyle 9'' Video Monitor Panel Display Screen, Full HD 1080p Support, HDMI/RCA/VGA Connectors (Universal Mount: In-Wall / In-Vehicle Custom Installation): Electronics

Be aware they don't come with the power pack, so you'll need one of them as well as it comes with 12v DC by itself. Here is the power pack as well.

Very nice...

btw - I hope you've secured that cabinet to the studs and not having the weight supported only by the shelf, as I had one of those shelving systems fail. ( plastic support broke as did the dry wall - I replaced a section of the dry wall with a short piece of wood directly screwed into the studs for my repair as well a purchasing a replacement plastic support ;-)

There no weight on that shelf. 4 lag bolts mount it to the wall studs. The cabinet doesn't even sit on the shelf, so the shelf actually isn't adding anything, you can fit a finger between the wire rack and bottom of cabinet

Looks great! Gonna have to use this one. Only thing I wish is, let's say a camera notification goes off, you could toggle which camera you view from this monitor instead of nvr. I know with BI, you can set camera view to whichever camera has been activated by motion which would work great with this monitor.

It's D.C. But in one of my posts above I link to the power pack for it which is plugged into my battery backup

that is stupid expensive....you got to be smoking something to use that...

We get them at cost, they are quality components. 3 years with this hardware and Zero Issues, On the other hand with my Amazon UTP Extenders I had to manually turn it off and on about 1-2 a week to resend the signal
