My HIKVision NVR DS-7604NI-SE/P has the firmware V2.3.7 build 131112 and the camera framerate is set to 25fps.
The camera DS-2CD2332-I has the firmware V5.0.2_130805.
When I download a file from the recordings at the NVR, the frame rate of the video recorded is 12fps.
Is there a bug that the camera does not accept the frame rate defined by the NVR?
How can Ι set the recording frame rate at 20-25 fps?

Can you log into the web console of the camera and change the frame rate?

I cannot connect to the camera locally because I am trying to manage the camera remotely. However even if I can connect to the camera locally, is there a fix for this bug?

Unsure about the NVR side of things as I don't use one but I have the same bug connecting to a Synology Surveillance Station.

What resolution are you recording at? At 3MP I'm also only able to record at 12fps but if I reduce it to 1920 x 1080 (1080P) then I can get it to record at 25fps.

Fmflex you are right the camera can provide a signal of 1920x1080@25fps, but then what is the point of paying for a 3Mpixels when you are forced to operate it at 2Mpixels?

For me 3MP @ 12fps is more than adequate for what I need it for so I haven't bothered to look into it further. I'd suggest you contact Hikvision support and check with them.

The camera is capable of 20fps at 3mp according to the specs
50Hz: 20fps (2048 × 1536), 25fps (1920 × 1080), 25fps (1280 × 720)
60Hz: 20fps (2048 × 1536), 30fps (1920 × 1080), 30fps (1280 × 720)

I have found out that the european firmware version V5.1.0_131202 fixes the 20fps at full resolution.
@icerabbit could you pleae provide us with the camera model you have and the actul firnware you have? If you really have firmware 5.1 and you cannot get 20fps at full resolution then this is alarming.
Waiting for your feedback...

Well, I will need to look up the details in a few days, as I can't seem to log in remotely. I thought I had set everything with correct port forwarding for external access, but didn't test it before I hit the road. I can reach some stuff remotely but not my 2 of my hikv.

Anyway, this half the frame rate thing has been the case with two pc nvrs I setup. Couldn't figure it out. It was my first hikv camera. Direct import, operating in English, shows the weekday in CH.

I will get back on the model & firmware.
