Frustrate: Blur....

I think the other issue we have seen before with fields of view with lots of details to resolve like a gravel road/driveway or all those needles/leaves in that foliage is that you might have to run higher bitrates, and you might not be able to get enough bitrate to completely clean the image.

That actually looks better, driveway is crisper and not soft
You can take bitrate on a 2MP to 8192
I just noticed you're doing a screencap. Noooo

CLick the little camera icon top right and export a full res picture without altering it in any way and post it up
Here is one from the RECORD with the camera snapshot icon on the bottom right (Vehicle)
and one from LIVE view (no vehicle because I don't know if I can time a vehicle in the screen that way)
bmp files

Are you able to see the exported BMP files from the camera? I have to ask if I am doing something wrong when selecting the camera icon in LIVE view. It just saves it without asking for the output format...

I can see them, but only after clicking and downloading and opening in a viewer application. Convert them to JPG or PNG before inserting into your post, or just copy and paste into your post, and then we'll see them inline:

Yeah that BMP is still poor.

Time to cut those trees LOL

Just to confirm this isn't auto/default settings?

Try 1/2000 shutter
gain 40-40
NR 25
bitrate highest.

Ok, I have readjusted those settings to match. Interestingly, when I do, the camera feed goes completely monochrome. I have to reboot the camera to get it to reset to color. (same thing happened on the previous camera (Dahua 1/1.8 chip)

You can force it into color. The faster shutter needs more light so it forces it to color.

Are you in the PacNW?

Well this is interesting. After adjusting those settings, it stayed monochrome.
Try 1/2000 shutter
gain 40-40
NR 25
bitrate highest.

(please let me know if you can see this image. It is a BMP saved as a jpeg.

It just looks like its struggling in color from too fast shutter and not enough light.. head scratcher

Here's random sampling from today from my one version older 5241 Z12 at 100-120ft depending on where the car is captured in the FOV
Here's the shadows I deal with in that spot this time of year

I wonder if part of it is focus?

I found very small adjustments to focus made a HUGE difference

Here is a capture from the Camera's video file with the new settings:
Try 1/2000 shutter
gain 40-40
NR 25
bitrate highest.

That quality is definitely what I am striving for.

My vehicles are around 70 to 80 feet out and I am only half way "zoomed" based on the cameras ability.

Yeah that looks better, but can tell it is struggling with light.

For focus, you need to take the step from 20 and put it to 1. Right now it is swinging 20 steps. Even better is to have someone stand out there (or stop a car) and do an autofocus to get it in the center of the road.

For additional comps, here is mine LOL
