Full Disk error

Hi All,
I've been running Blue Iris for a few years but still have a pile to learn. A quick search of existing threads didn't yield any obvious solutions to by problem so here goes:
For the past few weeks I have had to manually delete the directory where BI saves it's files. The auto delete feature quit working so the disk fills and can't write any new files. As far as I know, I haven't updated BI since it last functioned correctly. Unfortunately, my PC is Windows10 which drives auto updates with no opt out. I'm sure it has updated at least once.
Is anyone else having such a problem or have any ideas? I'll post some setting screen shots later unless the solution is obvious to someone.

Update: I was able to delete some files and I reduced the allocation for BI. It seems to be deleting in a test where I only made a couple of gigs available. Now i'm on to a larger test of the full drive which will take a couple of days. I'm not convinced it's fixed since I wasn't getting the over allocation error that I've seen in the past.

On BI 4 look at the clip storage status screen if there is any red you have a major problem.

Never allocated to BI more than 95% of the free disk space.
Never use time to determine when to move or delete a file.
Do not use the new and stored folders on the same drive, it is a waste of CPU time.

It looks like I have red and a problem. It's a 3TB drive with 2TB free yet the red indicates an over allocation.


The messages seems to indicate that there is nothing to delete. Independent confirmation from Windows shows 1.99TB free on the drive as well.


I'm only saving in the new directory at this point. I believe the files should delete once the folder size hits 1.8 TB.


I still got a gap in my timeline today, I assume because of a clip storage problem.

What is the data base doing on the d drive.
The database most of the times is on the c drive. I am assuming the c drive is an SSD.
I never change the folder the path just the drive letter. I also never use spaces in folder names.

If it was me I would change the folder names and paths . Set the database path, delete the database. Reboot.

D:\BlueIris\New
C:\BlueIris\db

On the cameras what are your flowers assigned to ? New

The data base is on the d drive because I've already failed one c drive and I didn't want to screw around installing the operating system again. So the d is a dedicated drive NAS disk to better handle the constant rewrite, or at least that's the idea. I'm open to better ideas and I have been considering adding more storage.

I don't get your point about camera flowers? I've not heard this term before.

ah, "Flowers" is folders. Sorry for pointing out a typo, I thought this was some term I didn't know.
Yes, cameras are all pointing at "New". I've changed the database and New folder paths. I had always assumed that the database was a location for video files, I'm pretty sure I was wrong.

Please let me know if this looks more consistent with best practices. I'm learning that I probably have a lot of settings incorrect.

the database is a tiny folder and should be on the fastes drive as explained by the developer.
You have an over allocation error signified by the red.

After your reboot. Wait a day and post a screen shot of the clip storage status screen.

The fact that it is trying to do something with stored, and stored showing up as allocated, but new isn't.. looks wrong.

Post a screenshot of what you have for stored.
